Mighty Gaw, Campgaw... Whatever you call it, it's a course built on ski
slopes. I imagine the skiing/snowboarding is just average, but
the disc golf is fantastic. If you can stand New "No Left Turns"
Jersey long enough to play there, I recommend it. I hope to play
there again if I get the time.
The closest comparison I can make for us Central Virginians is Golden
Hills in Blacksburg. The elevation changes are a little more
extreme in some places, though. it's plenty rocky, so it's a bit
of an ankle buster in the woods and you should definately wear good
shoes. Mostly wooded, but the fairways are nice and open and the
trees are nowhere near as tight together as Appo. Read the course
description on the PDGA website, it tells
you what you need to know about the course. Major elevation,
great views, empty-your-bag holes down the ski slope... What else
do you want?
The white tees were relatively straightforward as far as seeing the
basket from the tee boxes. Blues seemed much more difficult, but
I definately have an ambition towards playing them at some point.
16's blue tee is not for the timid. For me, it's probably a good
2 drives with a run-up to get to the white tee. I didn't have any
liquid refreshment with me or I might have gone for a
second round. My picture from hole 17 didn't take, if I go back,
I'll take it again. It has an alternate pin placement with same
tees for white and blue. Pin A is uphill to the right. I
shot an Appo-like 79, averaging about 4 shots per hole. I think I
could trim that a bit the next time. Deuces possible for longer
players than myself; threes imminently probable. 18 is probably a
par 4 for all but pros.
Current layout:

Hole 1:
Straight with slight hyzer at the end.
Hole 10: Slight
